Hospital District Update
Last year was a big year for our District! We completed a massive renovation of Village at the Harbor. We started taking a limited number of Medicaid residents. We hired our first full-time maintenance employee. We promoted Tina Smith to run Village at the Harbor. We completed a feasibility study for the expansion of Village at the Harbor.
On the administrative side, we leased and renovated a new office space for our administrative offices. We undertook a massive update to our policies and procedures. We did strategic planning. We organized a finance department and began a software conversion for all financial processes. We began laying the foundation for home care services with Evan Perrollaz as its executive director.
On the EMS side, we field tested and deployed new equipment, held numerous large classes providing top tier education, and credentialed over 500 people for CPR. Our community paramedicine outreach team served over 178 patients who needed regular in-home visits. Our ambulance crews met the demand of increasing call volume. Our new Collective Bargaining Unit agreement took effect. We replaced a command vehicle and deployed our first electric vehicle consistent with our long-term capital planning.
Heading into 2024, many of these projects will continue and some new ones will begin. Most notably for this year will be a large leap in financial sophistication as we complete our software conversion process. The District will also move forward with the opening of a new home care service, and further work on several large capital projects including a housing project for healthcare workers and the expansion of Village at the Harbor.
As we work to meet the needs of this community, we are very grateful for the dedicated work of our team. Many give far beyond what is required. We hope you can feel the impacts of their dedication and work in your families and our community. We cannot do this without your support!
